Development of elbow in foreign countries
the reason why elbows are developing so rapidly abroad is mainly based on the following two advantages:
1. it can replace some machined products, and is lighter than machined parts, castings and forged structural parts, saving materials;
2. save working procedures and man hours and reduce workpiece cost compared with machined products.
according to the information from the japanese material industry, a connecting rod machining method for trucks has been compared with the elbow method. the material weight for the same product weight is different. the machining method is 10.35kg, while the elbow is 9.32kg, saving materials; the unit price of machined parts is 240 yen, and if elbows are used, the unit price is 140 yen. therefore, the elbow method has great advantages in price, which has been reduced by nearly 50%. in terms of performance, the elbow method is better than the machining method.
